Ann Turkel

The actress, who was once the cover model for Vogue magazine, lives today with her family in Beverly Hills along with Samantha and Olivia. Ann Turkel, who was married to Richard Harris for eight years prior to her divorce twenty years ago she is still struggling to come to terms with the loss of Richard Harris. Turkel was born in the midst of a Jewish family and raised by her mother in Manhattan. At the age of 16, she was in the midst of studying with Sanford Meisner and Philip Burton in the Neighborhood playhouse and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. She tells JAN MOIR that the couple never did find happiness apart. Richard Harris played the part of Albus Dumbledore as the wizard from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001 (also released in the form of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone) and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002. Ann Turkel is a multi-faceted entertainer with a resume that encompasses motion picture, TV, modelling, business, and many more. Growing up in Manhattan, Ann always had an ability to entertain. She began dance lessons in the age of 5 and continued to pursue her art studies through college. She credits the encouragement she received from her grandmother. Ann is a vocalist as well as dancing and acting since the age of her first child. Ann at the time was 16 years old studied at both at the Neighborhood Playhouse (formerly the Musical Theatre Academy) and the Musical Theatre Academy under some of the best acting teachers in the city. This were Sandy Meisner & Philip Burton. Ann together with a few of her high-school classmates, formed a school rock and roll group. The band also took part in a year of summer stock stage on stage at the Berkshire Playhouse in Stockbridge, Massachusetts with plays such as The Pajama Game" and West Side Story. Ann was discovered through her performance at a Vogue Magazine Fashion Show by Gloria Schiff. Within the next week, Vogue's editor-in chief Diana Vreeland had Ann shoot her first Vogue cover in collaboration with photographer Richard Avedon. Ann became one of most coveted models of all time with her covers appearing in the top fashion magazines Vogue Bazaar and Cosmopolitan. Ann modeled successfully for cosmetic companies including Max Factor Revlon, Chanel and Europe in Europe following two years.
